Fracture - Upper - Monteggia Fractures
Bado suggested the term Monteggia lesion to include fractures of proximal third of ulna and either fracture or dislocation of radial head.
Bado's classification :
Type1: Fracture of ulnar diaphysis at any level with anterior angulation at the fracture site and an associated radial head dislocation anteriorly.
Type2: Fracture of ulna with posterior displacement and radial head dislocation posteriolateral
Type3: Fracture of ulnar metaphysis with lateral or anteriolateral dislocation of radial head.
Type4: Fracture of proximal third of ulna and radius with anterior dislocation of radial head.
Special mention about radial head fractures in addition to dislocation may require radial head replacement. ( Rockwood &Green)
