Usually non displaced extra articular fracture and those that can be reduced and they are stable one can treat them non surgically. If the fractures are reducible but unstable CRIF may be indicated. Oblique neck fractures also can be treated with CRIF. Intra articular , irreducible fractures ,open fractures and multiple fractures may require ORIF. Various devices such as K-Wires, mini-fragment screw systems can be used.
