Fracture - Lower - Tarsal - Calcaneus
Tuber Joint angle: Bohler Angle:-This angle is formed by two lines. First line between the highest point of anterior process connecting to the highest point of the posterior facet and the second line is drawn from the posterior facet to the most superior point of tuberosity of calcaneus. Normal angle is between 25 and 40 degrees.
Crucial angle of Gissane: The angle between downward portion of posterior facet and the upward process of the facet. Normal angle is approximately 100 degrees. This is exposed to compressive forces by lateral process of talus during compression fractures.
Radiographic Techniques:
AP view, Lateral view, Harris calcaneal view.
CT scan
MRI scan
Classification:
Extra articular, Intra articular
Methods of treatment:
Closed treatment
Semi open; Percutaneous pinnig, Cannulated screws.
Open surgery:
Lateral approach, Medial approach, combined both medial and lateral.
Primary arthodesis
