Overview
Most commonly fractured long bone. Barton and Kurtzke described that some residual disability exists in 90% of patients after distal radius fractures. Eponym classification of this fractures include Colles, Barton’s, Chauffer’s ,Smith’s and Malone four part. Functional classification takes into consideration the fracture site, and the involvement of the joints. OTA classification based on the fracture site whether it involves , extra articular, intra articular or a combination of both.
