OTA classification of tibial diaphyseal fractures is a morphological classification based on radiographs. These are Unifocal fractures, wedge fractures, and complex fractures. Each of these are sub divided into three sub groups based on the fracture of fibula and the location of fibular fracture, and also the type of tibial fracture. In addition there is also a simple classification which includes open fracture or closed and the location of fracture such as upper, middle, lower one third of tibia.
